Esbjörn Svensson Trio (also known as EST) was formed in 1990. This already famous Swedish trio is made `by the leader and pianist Esbjörn Svensson (piano), Dan Berglund (bass) and Magnus Ostrom (drums).
EST are known for their vibrant and innovative style and have a great worldwide recognition, both among critics and experts and sales.
EST has now become a phenomenon in the world of jazz. This group, defined himself as a pop band that plays jazz, breaks with the tradition of leading the band and other musical members to promote equality among its members, who not only play in jazz clubs but also typically use local rock bands, using lighting effects and smoke machines in their live performances, getting the entire audience singing with them as jazz classics by Thelonious Monk Bemsha Swing.
